Sheriff YC are into the final of the FAI Junior Cup after they travelled to Killarney to Play Killarney Celtic and came away triumphant, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The set up in Killarney was excellent and great credit must go to Killarney Celtic and Mastergeeha FC. A huge crowd turned up hoping to see an upset but it was not to be. Sheriff with all their experience came through despite going one down in the shootout. Their keeper Lee Murphy once again the hero saving two penalties.

Usher Celtic keep up the pressure on Sheriff YC in Premier A after they had a fantastic 1-0 away win over Ayrfield Utd on Sunday morning while Kilbarrack Utd cruised past East Wall/Bessborough 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Castleknock Celtic had a fantastic 3-1 away win over McKelvey Celtic in Premier B. On Thursday evening Howth Celtic drew 1-1 with Sheriff YC and Dingle United beat St.Pats/Phoenix 4-0

Kilmore Celtic took a huge step closer to Premier B football with a 1-0 win over St.Michaels in Premier C while East Wall Rovers put a title dent in Kippure’s hopes with a 3-2 win over them on Friday night.

This Wednesday in the new indoor arena in the National Sports Celtre in Abbotstown sees the final of the FAI Futsal Cup with both finalists from the AUL Futsal League. Transylvania FC will play Puskas Hagi in what looks likely to be a cracking final. We urge all football supporters to come along and enjoy this final and perhaps you might get the bug and enter a Futsal teams next season into the expanding AUL Futsal League. Remember the winners of this final represent Ireland on a higher stage.

The press launch and draw for the semi finals of the O’Neills LFA Junior Junior Cup and LFA Junior Shield took place last Thursday in FAI HQ, Abbotstown and Sheriff YC were drawn at home to New Oak Boys in the Junior Cup while Howth Celtic were drawn away to either Albion Rovers or St Carthages FC. Just a reminder to everyone that in all AUL competitions, LFA and FAI Junior competitions it is 5 subs from 7 that is allowed.

Make sure as Secretary your player registration forms are filled in correctly, Date of Birth, Club last played for, Player actually signs the form, Secretary signs the form all these thing should be checked before you leave them in to the office and if not filled in correctly they will be returned to you. It is your responsibility to correctly register your players the AUL will only try and make sure you do but it is not up to the AUL to Register the player correctly. If you sign a player from another club ask the question, have you an outstanding fine, have you been sent off this season or last season if the answer is yes to these questions contact the treasurer and see if there is a fine outstanding or a suspension outstanding against that player. Remember the fine stays with the Club now until it is paid.

Be aware of the ITC. If you are signing a player who has come back to live in Ireland or has arrived to live here ask the question “did you play in an organised League where you have come from” and if the answer is yes that player may require an International Transfer Certificate. All applications for an ITC must come from the Secretary of the Club the player is registered for. The player must register first for his club and then the club applies for the ITC. All ITC applications must be sent to Dick Redmond Secretary.
